♥ Ugh. I hate writer's block. Especially when I think it's mostly mental and me being a stupid twat with not being able to write. I mean, I'm able to write fine with andrealyn on our collabs, but I can't seem to get more than a sentence written on anything else, and I haven't been able to in weeks. I'm supposed to post a fic to space_wrapped on Friday that I don't have written because I've tried, oh, four or five different things that either remained a blank word document or were so utterly horrid I deleted them after a couple of sentences. Grrr.
♥ I'm trying to be in a good 'holidays whee' mood but it's sort of tough between the writer's block and utter failing of writing something for S_W, and lunch with extended family who basically ignore me & buy gifts for others but not me. Feel free to spam me with comments about happy things or images or comment fic or something to maybe improve my mood. I have to go into work tomorrow for like 3 hours just to walk a bag to the other jail and wait for a delivery. As if no one else working could possibly do that? Just grr more.
♥ There have been some wonderful Kirk/McCoy fics at happy_trekmas and space_wrapped. I've also read a few good Hermione fics around the various fests in HP-land. I read two long Peter/Elizabeth/Neal OT3 fics in the White Collar fandom recently, too. I totally ship those three together but not so much apart. Weird. I'm looking forward to reading a lot of fic at Yuletide over my long weekend, and maybe trying to write, though I'm not holding my breath there.
♥ Thank you to everyone who has sent cards (real and virtual) and the pressies and everything. Those things definitely make me smile and focus on positive stuff!
♥ It's like in the 70s today. I'm wearing short sleeves and kinda warm. They predict highs in the 30s/low 40s from tomorrow through the weekend. Gotta love Texas weather. LOL
♥ My DirectTV box thingy has decided to stop working. I've missed all my silly Bravo reality competitions this week. Due to weather changing/crazy, I've had a headache and sore throat/nose/face for days. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I'm so darn cranky but I hate feeling this way so I need to shake it off OMG. *slaps self*

This will likely hurt tomorrow. BUT I FEEL ACCOMPLISHED. We haven't had this much snow since I moved here, and I don't remember the last time it snowed this much in December. I think it was close to two feet. And it's GORGEOUS, perfect, heavy, fluffy snow, ideal for sledding and building things and making angels and snowballs. It's just that there was tons of it.

Also, I don't think the sun reflecting off the snow was good for my face.

Just gave my final talk for the semester. I think it went well, but y'know.... if I'm to defend a thesis at some point, it might be a good idea to get to a point where I can give talks without my heart knocking against my ribs the whole time. *smh*
